Baliram Balsaraf

Program Manager - Central Region

A development professional having 20 years of experience in executing and managing development programmes, in various capacities for NGOs in urban and rural areas, Baliram joined NEG-FIRE in May 2016. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, Baliram worked in Oxfam India, Sampark, CORO in Maharshtra. He also held the position of Program Coordinator at NEG-FIRE from April 2011 till July 2015, and re-joins the NEG-FIRE family.

Baliram holds anMSW (Master of Social Work) degree from University of Mumbai. He likes to travel to new places, trekking, reading, playing badminton and watching movies.

Deepak Balan

Specialist - Resource Planning & Partnerships

A community development person by profession, Deepak joined NEG-FIRE in August 2015 as a specialist in resource planning and partnerships. He is responsible for resource planning and building new partnerships for NEG-FIRE. He has previously worked with organizations like Navjeevan Trust, TCI Foundation, Population Health Services India and Innovative Financial Advisors Private Limited.

Deepak has a Master's degree in Social work from Rajasthan University, and is an avid reader, traveller.

Dinesh Madrosiya

Dinesh Madrosiya

An administration and accounts person by profession, Dinesh joined NEG-FIRE in April 2014. He is responsible for all admin and accounts related activities here at NEG-FIRE central region, Bhopal(M.P.). He has previously worked with Madhyanchal Forum supported by CASA wherein he worked closely with government and network organisations.

Dinesh has a Master's degree in Commerce (Management group) from Vikramuniversity Ujjain (M.P.) and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from MakhanlalChaturvedi National University of Journalism Bhopal (M.P.). He loves singing gazals and going for long bike rides.

Mamta Dubey

Program Manager – Northern region, Lucknow Office

A Development professional (Gender & education) by experience, Mamta joined NEG-FIRE in September 2014. She is responsible for designing and executing the field based initiatives aimed at improving the education of children and adolescent girls of underprivileged sections of society, through partners, in North India region within NEG-FIRE programmes, by providing strategic leadership, capacity building and handholding support to team as well as partners. She has previously worked for more than 15 years with Mahila Samakhya, UP on women's issues and Grameen Development Services on issues of rural artisans within Uttar Pradesh.

Mamta has a Master's degree in Social Work and is also a Law Graduate from Lucknow University, India and she always likes to help the women & children in need.

Mariamma Daniel

Executive Associate

Ensuringthe smooth functioning of the Executive Director's office and the front office, Mariamma joined the NEG-FIRE family in April 2013. She is also responsible for coordinating and organsing the statutory bodies meetings. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, she has worked with The Other Media and Voluntary Health Association of India.

Mariamma loves to read books, listen to music, interact with children and travel.

Raj Kumar

Finance Officer

Raj joined NEG-FIRE in January 2016 and is responsible for daily routine accounting work such as verifying the bills/cash, payments processing, monthly Bank Reconciliation/MIS, Payroll processing, TDS, FCRA, budget working, field accounting/visit etc. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, Raj has worked with University Research Company India Pvt. Ltd. – Centre for Human Services and Project Concern International.

He has a Master's degree in Finance and a bachelor's degree in Commerce. Raj also loves to read books, play cricket and listen to good music.

Rakesh K Singh

Research and Advocacy Specialist

A senior development professional, Rakesh joined NEG-FIRE in 2014. He leads the knowledge management initiatives of NEG-FIRE on issues of education of marginalised children and has over two decades of experience in research, advocacy, networking and communication in fields such as education, women empowerment, and governance. He has valuable work/ consultancy experience with several national and international organizations and specializes in early grade reading improvement and mother tongue-based multilingual education in low resource contexts.

An alumna of Patna College, Patna and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Rakesh is a Ph.D. in Economics. He was Editor of 'Women's Link' (ISSN 2229-6409) for over five years. His hobbies are watching movies, sports, reading newspapers, surfing the internet and having fun with friends.

Ravala Vijay Kiran

Manager – Monitoring and Evaluation

Working in the social and Development Sector from the past 6 years, Ravala Vijay joined NEG-FIRE in November 2015. He holds valuable experience in participative action research, monitoring and evaluation besides having in-depth understanding of project management especially in the domain of education, livelihoods, migration and tribal issues. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, Vijay has worked with Child Fund India, Aide et Action International, Global Compact Network India and more.

He has an M.Phil degree in Population Studies from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and loves watching movies and cooking.

Salahuddin Khan

Field supervising officer – Lucknow Office

Salahuddin joined NEG-FIRE in August 2013 and manage the programs and partners of the Uttar Pradesh region. He also supports in building capacity of partners and provide academic input in classrooms, teaching plans of teachers for the development of children in the age group of 3-6 years and enhancement of learning for children of 6-14years age group.Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, he has worked with Care, PoorvanchalGrameenVikasSansthan, Gorakhpur, and CRS supported program.

Salahuddin has a Master's degree in social work from the Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Science, Allahabad. His hobbies are photography, cooking and bike riding.

Sandeep Tirkey

Head – Program Management and Development

With specialisation in Program Planning, Management and Development and M&E, Sandeep joined NEG-FIRE in December 2012. At NEG-FIRE, he is responsible for the management and supervision of all programs and programme development and quality assurance. Prior to working here, Sandeep has worked with organizations such as CASA, CARE, Chhattisgarh Research Team (CGRT), Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS), Christian Aid and World Vision India.

An avid cook and traveller, Sandeep loves music and is called the Google of the office.

Sharda Singh

Arunima Wilson

Program Coordinator – Central Region

At NEG-FIRE, my main responsibility are to program management, capacity building and providing technical assistance to the partners. I have 5 years of experience in program implementation, training, capacity building and technical support to NGO partners. I have also worked with various organizations in Madhya Pradesh, such as - Open University UK (TESS India Program), The Humsafar Trust, Maitri Community Care Centre, Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd.

I am a commerce graduate and hold a Master degree in Social work with Medical and Psychiatric specialization. I am an experimental cook, and a dog lover.

Sharon Ferdinands – Hoffland

Communication and Documentation Coordinator

A communication person by profession, Sharon joined NEG-FIRE in November 2015. She is responsible for all communication, social media and documentation activities here at NEG-FIRE. She has previously worked with ICLEI South Asia wherein she worked closely with city governments and international organisations to communicate about programs that aim at creating sustainable and resilient cities in the South Asian region.

Sharon has a Master's degree in Public Relations and Communication from Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom and is an avid reader, blogger and cook.

Sincy Joseph

Manager – Human Resources and Administration

An HR-OD and Administrative professional having 25 years of experience in NGOs, Sincy has joined NEG-FIRE in May 2016. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, she has worked with organizations such as TERI, IDE, and ActionAid. She was also a freelance consultant to various NGOs in the areas of HR-OD.

Sincy holds a Master's Degree in Sociology; PG Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. She is also a certified 'OD and Change Facilitator for NGOs' by HID Forum, Bangalore. She has keen interest in human processes and behavioral science subjects. She isa member of Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science (ISABS), New Delhi, and facilitates Human Process Labs for personal growth.

Sincy loves to travel and explore new places and cultures; read books and gardening. Her favorite authors are Paulo Coelho, Khalid Husseini.

Shyam Sundar Mallick

Program Coordinator – Northern Region

The newest member of the NEG-FIRE family, Shyam joined us in February 2016 and brings with him 4 years of program work experience and has most recently worked in the capacity of Programme Officer (Training and capacity Building) with Child in Need Institute, Jharkhand. At NEG-FIRE, he will be responsible for providing support towards project management and capacity building of partners.

Shyam has a Master's degree in Social Work from Visva Bharti University, West Bengal and is an avid photographer who loves to read and ride bikes.

Uma shankar pandey

MIS & Monitoring Coordinator

After completing his Masters in Social Work (MSW), Uma started working in the development sector with a strong passion to serve with special attention on children, women, adolescent girls and other vulnerable section of the society. Throughout his work experience, Uma has worked with people at various levels including grassroot workers, line functionaries, senior officials and functionaries of organizations, departments and NGO's such as John Hopkins University, Pratham Education Foundation, ASER Centre Lucknow, etc.

Umed Singh

Logistical Assistant

Chota packet and badadhamaka, Umed is one of the most resourceful and trust worthy person at NEG-FIRE, who ensures safety of staff and guests travelling in the office vehicle. He is the Logistic Assistant & Driver here at NEG-FIRE and has previously worked with Chartered Accountant M. Thomas and Co. A great cook; he makes the best Karak Chai when staff is busy in meetings and trainings in order to revitalize them.

Vengatesh Krishna

Executive Director, NEG-FIRE

Vengatesh joined NEG-FIRE in January, 2014. Reporting to the Governing Board, Vengatesh is leading multi-disciplinary team that develop, pilot and scale-up appropriate pedagogical practices that promotes primary education for children from marginalized communities. His core strength is to translate organizational vision into practises and creating an environment of shared responsibility within the organization.

Vengatesh has more than 15 years senior leadership experiences in India and in foreign nation. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, he worked as Senior Operations Director for Asia Region of International center for research on women. He was the Country Director for Malawi (Southern African region) with Project concern international and his last two positions with Catholic relief services in India were Director - partnerships and State Representative – Gujarat, Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh.

Vengatesh has Master's degree in Social work from Loyola College (University of Madras) and enjoys reading fiction, travelling and cricket.

Vineet Gupta

Manager - Finance

A finance professional with over 20 years of experience in the finance sector, Vinnet joined NEG-FIRE in April 2014. He has a rich experience and understanding in Grants managements, finance, accounting, and statutory compliances as per income Tax, FCRA etc. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, he has worked with several organisations like 'BachpanBachaoAndolan', 'Global Fund Round- 6 project with Catholic Bishops' Conference of India,Rural Education and Development (READ) India and Young women Christian Association of Delhi (YWCA of Delhi).

Vineet loves listening to music, watching TV and playing with children.

Yogesh Kumar

Accounts and Administrator –Regional office, Lucknow

With 15 years of experience with development sector organizations/Institutions/NGOs such as Mahila Samakhya, Seth Vishambhar Nath Group of Educational Institution, Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Yogesh joined NEG-FIRE in October 2013. He handles accounts and administration at the Lucknow office.

Yogesh has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application. He finds his passion in sensitising people about child welfare, welfare of the elderly, upliftment of women and girl child.

Sandeep Mishra

Admin Officer

Sandeep joined NEG-FIRE in August 2016. He is responsible for all Administrative functions such as – office administration and maintenance, travel and accommodation, leave and attendance, event organizing, etc. He has previously worked with WomenPower Connect, Golden Graffiti Pvt. Ltd. and LSK Financial Services in Delhi.

Sandeep has a Bachelor’s degree in Multi-Media and Animation, Arena Animation from M S University, Tamil Nadu and is currently pursuing an MBA degree in HR and Administration from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune. He is a great cricketer and loves watching movies and listening to music.

Namita Srivastava

Consultant – Documentation (Programme)

A development professional with 10 years of experience, Namita joined NEG-FIRE in August 2016 and is responsible for ensuring quality documentation and development/updating of various technical and functional documents/content related to NEG-FIRE’s programmes and other organisational processes. She has previously worked with Poorest Areas Civil Society, JagranPehel and Vatsalya inUttar Pradesh and has been responsible for partnership management, programme monitoring, documentation and networking and liaisioning.

Namita has a Masters degree in Women Studies, Community medicine and Public Health and loves travelling and listening to music.

Sharmistha Choudhury

Programme Manager, Northern region

Been associated with the social development sector since the past 18 years, Sharmistha joined NEG-FIRE in June 2016 and is responsible for leading the northern regional team at our Lucknow office. She, through technical support to the team and the partners, manages all the projects of the region. She has previously worked on issues of women and children’s rights, social inclusion and school and teacher education. Prior to joining NEG-FIRE, she had been working with the Integrated Development Foundation, Central Project Support Unit (CPSU) of Swa-Shakti Project under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Terre des Hommes (Germany) India Programme and TESS India/British Council.

Sharmistha has a post graduate diploma in rural diploma from Xavier Institute of Social Services, Ranchi and is an artist at heart who loves music.

Sunny Anand Jha

Consultant – School Improvement Programme

Sunny, with specialisation in Program Management and Research, joined NEG-FIRE in September 2016. He has previously worked with Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur on the issues of Community and School WASH. He has worked in close liasoning with the District Administration on SBM and WASH in Schools. Here at NEG-FIRE, his key responsibilities are programme management, networking and technical assistance to the partners.

Sunny has a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from XISS, Ranchi and is a travel fanatic who loves to know more about different cultures.

Teena Rawat

Grants & Contracts Officer

Finance cum program person taking care of Administration and management of all grants and contracts. Having a great combination of financial and programmatic knowledge, Teena joined NEG-FIRE in October 2016. She is responsible for contract management with donors, partner NGOs and technical consultants, timely disbursement of funds to partners/ consultants, documentation and reporting of grants utilization here at NEG-FIRE. She has previously worked with HelpAge India and has an in depth knowledge about Statutory Compliance related to FC/ FCRA Acts, Taxes, etc.

Teena is a commerce graduate from Delhi University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in finance from Sikkim Manipal University. She also holds a Diploma in ICA (Industrial Computer Accountancy) and loves to travel, meet new people and have new experiences.

Junhai Jaiswal

Consultant - Curriculum and Content Developer

A sociology graduate from Miranda House, University of Delhi, Junhai joined NEG-FIRE in October 2016 and is responsible for building Activity Based Learning (ABL) techniques for language and mathematics and, building TLMs that bridges the gap between conventional classroom learning with a child’s culture and community at large. She has previously worked at the National Commission for Women, New Delhi and built curriculum for classes 1st to 9th on ABL methodologies, for Rishi Valley School and Unicef, collectively.

She has a post graduate diploma in journalism and a Masters degree in Child Rights and Gender Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Junhai finds her interest in numismatics and exploring new places to eat at and travel to.
