The HRA Manager is a core member of the management team of NEG-FIRE. S/he will be responsible for leading the HR and Administrative functions of the organization. S/he will review/develop and implement HRA policies, systems and processes. Under the guidance of Executive Director, HRA Manager will be responsible for efficient delivery of a gamut of HR & Admin tasks such as – ensuring efficiency in General Administrative services to staff, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Training and Development, managing Salary and Benefits, HRIS (Automation) implementation, Performance Management System Implementation, review/develop HRA policies, ensure statutory Compliances, Conflict resolution, managing external consultants such as HRIS, Legal, etc. The HRA Manager will manage and steer the induction and assimilation of staff.
The HR Manager will also support the Executive Director in his/her governance functions as required by the ED.
S/he would be responsible for continuously nurturing the organization’s culture, and hence play a lead role in ensuring that all staff align with the organization’s Vision, mission, and values. S/he would cultivate an emotional connection among staff, and plan interventions at different levels and through different means, to foster this connect. S/he will also attend to the learning and skill needs to enhance the organization’s competencies and identify the means and opportunities for this.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- In close coordination with ED and Management team, understand, develop HR policies and practices keeping in mind the current and future organizational needs and the dynamic social context
- Lead an effective recruitment and selection process to ensure a timely, comprehensive and transparent hiring of competent staff, who have the orientation and concern to work for communities who are marginalized and excluded from development.
- Ensure new recruits are effectively oriented into the organisational vision, mission, values, ethos, policies and systems.
- In coordination with the ED, promote and foster cross-functional cooperation, thereby imbibing a culture of collaboration and team work
- By using digital media, ensure closer e-connect among all staff, thereby foster emotional connect and communication that keeps staff inspired and motivated
- Lead the implementation of HRIS Automation project and ensure its continuous maintenance.
- Support and oversee HR Coordinator and HRA Officer for effective delivery of day-to-day operational tasks including general administration, logistics, assets managements, recruitment, contacting, on-boarding and off boarding, HRIS, staff database management files, health and safety issues, staff queries.
- Reach out to approx. 150 staff to address all kinds of employment related queries/ issues to their satisfaction.
- Support managers on people management matters and interpretations of HR-related policies, processes and practices, promoting fairness and transparency in the handling of people management practices, including whistle-blowing, sexual harassment, disciplinary action, grievance management, etc.
- Ensure that the organization continuously addresses identifying learning & development opportunities in line with their roles and responsibilities and create internal development opportunities for staff.
- Implement HR policies and ensure compliances are met as per statutory and legislative requirements.
- Resolve complex staff relations issues (such as harassment and discrimination allegations) in a balanced, fair and objective manner. Serve as a focal point for resolution of disputes, grievances and, with the support of others, the investigation of complaints including safeguarding
- Update with knowledge of trends, best practices, statutory changes, new technologies in HR and ensure that the compliance with the policy and statutory is adhered to, and make it applicable in the employment conditions as per regulation and laws.
- Regularly evaluate policy and procedures, introducing improvements where necessary in collaboration with the management team,
- Modeling and promoting organisational culture and ethics, act as SPOC on HR issues across the organisation, answering questions, creating solutions and solving problems.
- Supervise, guide and manage the delivery of all Administrative, Logistical and Legal services to the organization
- Ensure that there are sufficient resources to meet the objectives through annual budgeting and planning for the HR and Admin function.
Working relationships:
- Internal – ED, All department/regional heads, Human Resource Committee, Governing Board, and Staff
- External – HR networks, HRIS Vendor, Compliance Consultants, Vendors of HR & Admin services and Government agencies etc. as directed by ED.
Job Specifications:
Qualifications & Experience:
Post graduate, preferably in Social Sciences, Management, with specialisation in HR or related Organizational development subjects. Must be well versed with regulatory issues bearing on NGO’s.
At least 10-12 years of work experience in a Senior HR Management role in a national or international non-profit organisations.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:
Knowledge
- Taking a creative and innovative approach to work
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Updated knowledge of relevant laws and compliances pertaining to non -profit Trust/ Society
- Knowledge of other general statutory requirements
- Formulate/ update/ revise/ strengthen various HR related policies for Trusts/ Societies

- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with ability to apply quantitative analysis to HR outcomes and regularly reports to assess opportunity for continuous improvement
- Effective Presentation and Communication Skills.
- Ability to engage in dialogue and conversations with Board, General Body and senior dignitaries
- Skills in MS Word, PPTs, Excel spreadsheets, Social media tools, Internet, latest HR technologies, at a highly proficient level
- Enhanced employee engagement strategies.
- Ability to undertake competency mapping
- Ability to evolve HR strategies aligned to Organisational transformation
- Ability to work in a complex, ambiguous, volatile, and fast-paced environment.

Abilities
- Willing to travel to project areas (remote) in India as and when required

Deserving candidate will be paid a consolidated Cost to the Organization of maximum Rs. 12-14 Lakhs per annum, (depending upon candidates’ skills, experience and current/last drawn salary) plus social security benefits and opportunities for training and development.
